Spokane Wine Trail: Wineries & Tasting Rooms Worth Visiting

An Emerging Wine Destination

While Walla Walla and Woodinville get most of Washington's wine attention, Spokane has quietly developed a thriving wine scene of its own. With over a dozen tasting rooms in the greater Spokane area and easy access to Washington's wine-producing regions, it's a fantastic destination for wine lovers.

Downtown Spokane Tasting Rooms

Several excellent tasting rooms are located right in downtown Spokane, making them easy to visit on foot:

  • Barrister Winery — Located in a historic building, known for bold reds aged in a converted warehouse
  • Townshend Cellar — One of the original urban wineries in Spokane with an inviting tasting bar
  • Bridge Press Cellars — Craft wines with a focus on small-batch production

The downtown cluster means you can walk between several tasting rooms in an afternoon without needing to drive.

Greater Spokane Wine Stops

Venture just outside the city for more options:

  • Arbor Crest Wine Cellars — Perched on a cliff overlooking the Spokane River Valley in a historic estate. The views alone are worth the visit
  • Latah Creek Wine Cellars — One of the region's oldest producers, known for approachable whites and rosés

Day Trip: Walla Walla Wine Country

If you have a full day, the drive to Walla Walla (about 4 hours south) takes you through the heart of Washington wine country. With over 100 wineries, it's one of the premier wine destinations in the United States.

A comfortable rental car makes this road trip enjoyable — plenty of room for any bottles you pick up along the way.

Tips for Responsible Tasting

Always have a designated driver when visiting multiple tasting rooms. If you're traveling solo, start with the walkable downtown options and save the driving destinations for a day when you have a companion behind the wheel.
